Early Symptoms-Indicators for suspicion in the classroom
Some of the typical indicators that can make the teachers consider a problem with ADHD are:
Pre-school
- Disorganized activity
- High energy level, activity
- Low body control
Primary School
- A lot of confusion in work
- Little attention to detail
- Excessive activity
- Precipitation in tasks
- Inability to stay in line
- Disruption of the class without thinking
- Off track, abstraction
- Execution of work is very irregular
High school
- Impulsivity
- Is easily distracted
- Irregularity in the execution of tasks and results
- Errors due to not being careful during work
- Less than expected performance with apparent intelligence
- Issues with resolving problems
- Impulsivity in response to teachers or norms
- Breaking the rules with later regret
- Problems with classmates due to impulsiveness or immaturity /emotional inadequacy
- Lack of reasoning expected by age
