That children have friends, a group of peers who accept them, that love them, with whom they want to play, study, and experience, depends on many things. And the development of friendly relationships is important for personal development, to develop the ability to share, to establish relationships of trust and intimacy later. Hyperactive children can be very funny, even leaders, and if they have grace, social skills, are good at sports or have series of other virtues well regarded by peers, he or she can be smoothly integrated into an appropriate peer group. But sometimes their impulsiveness, their inappropriate actions, taking risks, and making mistakes may cause them to be rejected which further complicates their personal development and progress in school. Academic failure may cause them, due to identification, to be closer to children with poor performance and behavior, initiating a vicious cycle of inappropriate relationships, activities that are against the rules, trends in absenteeism, and exposure to environmental risks (drugs, relationships with people less suitable for them, etc.)..
Social relations are very important in childhood and especially in the adolescent stage. It is crucial to ensure that children have an appropriate group of people his or her age with whom to relate. To achieve this it is sometimes necessary to force their participation in activities in which the child is more skilled (sports, arts, social) where her or she can meet people with similar interests to theirs and with which to identify, bond and develop friendly relationships. Parents should help children to organize plans and not just expect other children invite him or her.
